the CONCOURS MUSICAL DE FRANCE.

Since 1979 CMF orgainses Eliminatories in several towns in France, founding candidates of any age and any level.

The Final is planed in Paris in its area.

From 1979 to 1986, CMF was divided in 2 sections : Piano and Singing.

But since then, the quickly increasing number of pianists candidates has forced the organiser committee to kee : the piano section only.


Eliminatory Town Range

Organised every second years - until 1990 - CMF has chosen a selection of towns divided over the national territory for eliminatories :

-      MARSEILLE
-      LYON
-      PARIS
-      STRASBOURG
-      PAU
-      NICE
-      NANTES

So as to get closer the candidates living far from the main cities and stimulate the piano teachers who very often make a deserving work, CMF organises eliminatories in smaller places :

-      EMBRUN
-      THIERS
-      MENTON
-      VERTOU
-      ROCHEFORT
-      POMPIGNAN
-      SERRES-CASTET
-      CASTELNAUDARY


C.M.F. : From Europ to the World

CMF's fame has very quickly reached borders as well the pianists (English, Italians, Japaneses, German, Greeks...), who have taken to the eliminatories and to the final.
From 1990, the competition commitee has extended its action to Swizerland (Lausanne).
But since1995, that CMF has made possible this extension to Europ and though world :

- ITALY (Gallicano - Asti)
- CANADA (Toronto - Montréal)

Added between 1996 and 1998 :

- SPAIN (Girona)
- BELGIUM (Liège)

In 1999, eliminatories extende to Eastern Europ :

- LATVIA (Riga)
- POLAND (Cracow)

The USA are part of the program of 2001 including Boston which should welcome new candidates.
